Autumn, Spring, Summer
A purple skinned carrot with sweet, orange interior, 25cm, vigorous tops. High in nutritional value, adds colour to salads Cooking dissolves the purple colour. Carrots need deep, well cultivated soils. Dig in plenty of well rotted compost in Autumn. Add a base dressing of organic fertiliser to the beds. Sow mid Oct – mid Feb in warm soils, 5 mm deep, 45cm apart. Mix with fine sand to aid sowing. Germination about 10-14 days. The later it is sown the better the colour will be, particularly if left in ground over Winter.
