This is the classic cowboy bean. To my mind pinto beans have the best flavour amongst all dry beans and can be used in any dish that calls for beans. It grows to a small bush and matures early in cool climates.
Our own section which is semi trailing white flowers mid-January, mid-season. Grown from seed in Tasmania. Sow 1cm deep mid-November after last frosts, 20cm apart 30cm in between the rows, feed with COF and liquid feed with fish emulsion to keep nitrogen available. Water well throughout the growing season.
