Melbourne Market Parsnip

Medium length, smooth, tapered and round shouldered, healthy tops with shallow crowns, long uniform and delicious white roots. Sow early Spring and late Summer. Sow seeds 5 mm deep in fine, deep soil, 2 cms apart, in rows 45cm apart. Keep seed bed moist, cover rows with planks and check weekly. After germination remove planks. Thin seedlings carefully to at least 10cm apart. Roots can hold in soil all year.
