Popular perennial, mild onion flavour that sets strongly with maturity. Cultivation; Sow Spring or early Autumn in 75mm containers in moist seed raising mix or in the open ground. Seedings are difficult to transplant from pots to ground. Keep germinated seeds well watered.

Cover seed with a thin layer of seed raising mix. Keep germinated seeds well watered. At second true leaf stage harden off gradually and then transplant into moist well fertilized herb beds.

Sweet Italian Basil

A good strong selection of fresh salad and pesto basil. Sow in punnets in mid November when temperatures are about 20 degrees C during day and warm at night. Transplant into bed in a sheltered sunny spot. Use Complete Organic Fertiliser around the small plants and water in.
